The two main branches of the Richmond Tree are the Richmonds and the Shavers and they have been in America for many generations. The Richmonds emigrated to America from England in the 1600’s to the New England region including Pilgrims on the Mayflower and the family established its roots in Taunton, Connecticut. Other branches can be traced back to Germany, Switzerland, France. In the 1800’s the various families migrated to Illinois.
